Want to learn how to identify the trees around you? Join Heights Tree People and International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist Keith Geary for an introduction to identifying common trees in Northeast Ohio.
Learn how characteristics including leaves, bark, branches, flowers, and fruit can help you recognize different tree species. After a short indoor presentation, participants will head outside to the Peace Park Mini-Forest to put their new skills to the test using tree identification keys and field guides.
Whether you're a curious beginner, nature lover, or aspiring tree steward, this hands-on workshop will help you see—and understand—the trees in your community in a whole new way.

Learn how to prune your trees with confidence! Join Heights Tree People and Lizzie Sords for a practical introduction to the basics of proper tree pruning.
This hands-on program will cover pruning cuts and how to evaluate a tree's structure to support its long-term health. Participants will also explore the biology and physiology of trees to better understand how thoughtful pruning can shape a tree, improve its health, and minimize damage.
You'll learn how to choose the right pruning tools and use them properly—giving you the knowledge and confidence to make better decisions about caring for the trees on your property.

As part of our Block-by-Block Tree Planting Program, volunteers will help plant multiple trees along a single residential street—creating a cooler, greener, and more connected neighborhood in just a few hours.

Coventry PEACE Mini-Forest Mulching Day
We need volunteers to help us prepare the site for the one-acre mini-forest we are planting as part of the Coventry PEACE Campus project. We need to spread many cubic yards of mulch to define the edges of the mini-forest, kill grass and weeds, and improve the soil so the trees we plant in spring will thrive.
Bring yourself and a water bottle. If you have tools—such as gloves, a wheelbarrow, hard rakes, pitchforks, or garden rakes—that would be great too!

1000th Tree Celebration and Fundraiser
Join Heights Tree People as we celebrate our 1000th TREE PLANTED!
On October 5th, Heights Tree People will plant our 1000th tree since we began our work in 2019. We plant trees in the Heights as an act of love—love for trees, for our community, and for the planet.
We will then celebrate the work we've done and the work yet to come. And we'd love you to join us!
